The people of Nicaragua treated me like family. The community was humbled by the project and a group of children participated right away. We started chalking and in my broken spanish we started a conversation about litter through art. Their streets are kept very clean and they had trash bins almost everywhere.
A nice lady shared with me that their main issue with litter is plastic bags. Everywhere you go, you see plastic bags! Reusable bags are rarely used and plastic bags are the norm. We exchanged emails and Facebook pages to keep in touch.
